Genasys Inc. (NASDAQ: GNSS), the global leader in Protective Communications®, today announced a new follow-on order from the National Guard for mobile Long Range Acoustic Device® (LRAD) kits. The National Guard has ordered a total of $8.5 million in LRAD communication systems and accessories to date, with further orders expected.
“Long Range Acoustic Devices are part of National Guard inventories in every state and territory,” said Richard Danforth, Chief Executive Officer of Genasys. “Mobile LRAD kits provide Guard units with critical communication and deescalation capabilities for natural disasters, civil and national emergencies, and overseas military operations. Our proprietary long range communication systems significantly enhance the Guard’s ability to conduct its mission and help keep civilians out of harm’s way when units are deployed during domestic and international actions.”
LRAD’s unmatched broadcast area coverage and vocal clarity are also used by the National Guard for humanitarian response missions, search-and-rescue and evacuation operations, CBRNE and HAZMAT incidents, and for crowd communication during civil unrest.
