Sustainable Media Center Brings GenZ and GenX+ Together for a Live New York Debate on September 23

NY, NY, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Sustainable Media Center will bring together two GenZ and two GenX+ participants for a public discussion about artificial intelligence, its potential uses, and questions surrounding its effect on daily life.

AI: A Future, a Danger, or Both? An InterGenerational Debate will take place Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at Mintz, 919 Third Avenue in New York City. The event will be held before a live audience, recorded, and streamed online.

Moderated by NYU cognitive neuroscientist Laura Globig, the conversation will feature Saanvi Arora, founder of the Youth Power Project; Kayleigh Robertson, founder of the Digital Recovery Centre; Dan DeWolf, chair of Mintz’s Technology Practice; and Steven Rosenbaum, executive director of the Sustainable Media Center and author of The Future of Truth: How AI Reshapes Reality.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being incorporated into classrooms, workplaces, creative industries, online platforms, and systems used to find and evaluate information. The discussion will examine how participants from different generations are encountering these changes and how AI may affect work, creativity, education, trust, relationships, privacy, and decision-making.

GenZ participants will discuss their experiences with algorithmic and AI-driven technologies in education, work, and online life. GenX+ participants will address how AI is being introduced into established institutions and professional settings. The conversation will consider where these experiences differ, where concerns overlap, and which questions require further public discussion.

Globig will invite the panelists to discuss the opportunities and limitations they see in AI, including questions about information quality, employment, digital well-being, human judgment, and accountability.

“AI is already affecting decisions people make at work, in school, and online,” said Rosenbaum. “This conversation brings together people with different experiences to discuss the choices ahead and the questions that deserve public attention.”

The event is presented by the Sustainable Media Center with support from Mintz.

Laura Globig, Moderator
Laura Globig is a cognitive neuroscientist and postdoctoral researcher at New York University. She earned her PhD from University College London and was a visiting scholar at MIT. Her research combines behavioral experiments, computational modeling, and neuroimaging to examine how AI systems and online platforms shape beliefs, decisions, and behavior.

Saanvi Arora, GenZ
Saanvi Arora is a technology policy specialist, youth advocate, and founder of the Youth Power Project. She studied computer science and legal studies at UC Berkeley and has helped advance more than a dozen youth-led public policies addressing mental health, healthcare equity, and adolescent rights at state and federal levels.

Kayleigh Robertson, GenZ
Kayleigh Robertson is a mental health advocate, researcher, and nationally certified peer support specialist who examines social media’s effects on identity and well-being. Drawing on lived experience, she speaks and writes about digital dependency and recovery. She founded the Digital Recovery Centre to support individuals and families experiencing online harms.

Dan DeWolf, GenX+
Dan DeWolf chairs Mintz’s Technology Practice and co-chairs its Venture Capital and Emerging Companies Practice. He advises startups and investors in the United States and abroad and teaches venture capital law at NYU. He previously co-founded an early-stage venture firm.

Steven Rosenbaum, GenX+
Steven Rosenbaum is an author, entrepreneur, and filmmaker. He is executive director of the Sustainable Media Center and author of The Future of Truth: How AI Reshapes Reality. He directed the documentary 7 Days in September and has worked in media and technology throughout his career.
