Bastion’s team and strategies join CoinShares as the Company’s Active Alternative Strategies business
JERSEY, Channel Islands — Wednesday September 2nd 2026 — CoinShares PLC (Nasdaq: CSHR) (“CoinShares” or the “Company”), a leading global asset manager specialising in digital assets, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Bastion Asset Management Limited (“Bastion”).
The business now operates as CoinShares Alternatives and continues to be led by the two executives who ran it at Bastion: Philip Scott, formerly Bastion’s Chief Executive Officer, joins CoinShares as Head of Alternatives, and Fred Desobry, formerly Bastion’s Chief Investment Officer, as Head of Systematic Investment Strategies.
The completion brings together Bastion’s systematic investment capabilities and established institutional client base with CoinShares’ broader investment, trading and operational infrastructure, providing a platform from which to expand the Alternatives business across strategies, clients and assets under management.
Jean-Marie Mognetti, Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of CoinShares, said:
“The completion of the Bastion acquisition is an important step in the continued development of CoinShares’ investment platform. Bastion brings an experienced team, a differentiated systematic investment process and an established strategy with a strong track record and institutional investor base. By combining these capabilities with CoinShares’ infrastructure, market access and global distribution, we believe we have a strong platform from which to scale our Alternatives business and capture the growing institutional demand for differentiated sources of return within digital assets.”
The acquisition materially broadens CoinShares’ investment offering. The Group can now provide investors with access to digital assets through both passive and actively managed strategies, spanning listed products, funds and managed accounts, within a single institutional platform.
