GENEVA, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Mercuria today announces that Gécamines, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s state-owned mining enterprise, has finalized its offtake agreement with Kipushi, marking its entry as a major exporter of zinc concentrate to international markets.

Under the multi-year agreement, Gécamines, through its joint venture with Mercuria, will market up to 240,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate over the next two years, with potentially higher volumes thereafter and a strategic focus on Western supply chains.

In parallel, Gécamines aims to maximize the value of germanium contained in the concentrate and plans to explore potential financing solutions through Project Vault for strategic stockpiles in the United States.

The agreement combines Gécamines’ resource position with Mercuria’s global trading capabilities, logistics expertise and market access to connect Kipushi’s production with international customers.
