Insurance executive and PLI founder joins HAFA’s Presidential Board, contributing industry experience in agent development leadership and insurance distribution
MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, August 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Bryan J. Ovalles, founder and CEO of PLI, has joined the Presidential Board of Health Agents for America (HAFA), a national organization representing independent health insurance agents and professionals across the United States.
Ovalles’ participation on the Presidential Board comes as the health insurance industry continues to navigate changes affecting independent agents, consumers and insurance distribution nationwide.
As a member of the Presidential Board, Ovalles will have the opportunity to contribute his perspective as an insurance executive and agency builder while engaging with other industry professionals on issues affecting health insurance agents and the communities they serve.
“Joining the HAFA Presidential Board is both an honor and a responsibility,” said Bryan J. Ovalles. “Independent agents play an essential role in helping American families understand and access their health coverage options. I look forward to contributing what we have learned through years of building, training and developing insurance professionals while also learning from other leaders across the industry.”
From Agency Building to Industry Participation
Ovalles founded Leon Partners Insurance & Financial Corp., now operating as PLI, in 2019. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded its insurance distribution operations across multiple U.S. markets and developed a national network of insurance professionals.
PLI’s growth has included operations across Florida, Texas, Georgia, New Jersey and other states, alongside the development of training and leadership initiatives designed to prepare insurance professionals for long-term careers in the industry.
The company has also received recognition for its production in the supplemental insurance market, including top agency performance with Washington National.
Ovalles said his involvement with HAFA represents a continuation of his efforts to participate more actively in conversations affecting the broader insurance profession.
“As our organization has grown, my responsibility has evolved as well,” Ovalles said. “There comes a point when leadership cannot be limited to what happens inside your own company. We have a responsibility to participate in the conversations that shape our industry, advocate for professional standards and help develop the next generation of insurance leaders.”
Supporting the Role of Independent Health Insurance Agents
Health Agents for America works on behalf of independent health insurance agents and engages with issues involving healthcare policy, regulation and the role of professional agents in the health insurance marketplace.
For Ovalles, participation on the Presidential Board also provides an opportunity to bring perspectives developed through working with a large and diverse insurance distribution organization, including a significant community of Hispanic insurance professionals.
He believes that continued professionalization, education and leadership development will be increasingly important as the insurance industry evolves.
“The future of insurance distribution will require more than simply recruiting agents,” Ovalles said. “It will require developing knowledgeable professionals, building strong leadership cultures and ensuring that agents understand the responsibility they have to the consumers and communities they serve.”
Ovalles’ appointment also coincides with his broader work in leadership development and business education. He is the author of Mucho Más Que Dinero, a book focused on leadership, mindset, purpose and personal development, and regularly participates in industry events, leadership programs and educational initiatives.
His work through PLI and its affiliated initiatives focuses on developing insurance professionals, strengthening organizational leadership and building scalable systems for agency growth.
